Spice Girls is called one of the most popular and successful music bands of all time. Short History

The British pop band that sold more than 85 million records consisted of 5 girls: Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice). The popular band was formed in 1994 under the name Touch, but after deciding to escape from their producers, the girls independently signed a contract with another record company and changed their name to Spice Girls.

After receiving a lot of criticism, the girls decided not to give up and prove that they can reach the same as the very popular groups of guys at that time. Since then, the band has been cultivating and promoting the Girl Power movement that has accompanied the band throughout their careers and later became part of popular culture. Spice Girls won the music charts in 1996 with the release of their debut song called Wannabe. The song was played on radio stations in 37 countries. This song was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling single by a band of girls.

Their first album Spice became the best-selling music album in history released by a group of girls, and one of the best-selling (over 31 million copies) music album overall. The second album, Spiceworld, released in late 1997, also became a big hit: over 7 million fans bought the album within 2 weeks of its release. At the end of 1997, the movie Spice World: The Movie was released, where the singers played themselves. After that, it was possible to buy dolls, perfumes, computer games, books, and various clothes with the attributes of this group.

The Last Concert

The band of Spice Girls, who returned on the stage in 2019, completed their tour at Wembley Stadium in London. There were a lot of sensitive moments and tears during the last concert, and one member apologized to the fans. Geri Halliwell, who was called Ginger Spice, paid tribute to fans for leaving the band at the very peak of its popularity in 1998. “I have to say what I had to say many years ago.
